2026 Week 42

Oasis Desktop v1055

Submitted by Andrew Simard on

Worker Manager

  1. Documents don't calculate a value for days remaining if no end date is available.  This was prompted by PSF, adding SIN numbers with both expiring versions and non-expiring versions.

Query Tool

  1. Various updates to database-generated scripts.

Configuration Manager

  1. Added annotations to main Parameters view.

Oasis Desktop v1054

Submitted by Andrew Simard on

Notifications Manager

  1. Fixed Annotations module launching and syncing.  Also updates to the Annotations module for the same thing.  Added red tag icon.  Changed how queries are loaded so the automated notifications work properly again.

Annotation Tool

  1. Setup system to have default Annotations module launch into a \"personal archive\" of annotations for general notekeeping purposes and because there apparently needs to be a module defined for everything else to work normally.

Oasis Desktop v1053

Submitted by Andrew Simard on

Notifications Manager

  1. Support for CULT500 database.  Added ADMAUTO account (equivalent to GLMAUTO) for running jobs.
  2. A few changes to make it harder to tell that it is running locally  when scheduled.  The SystemScheduler has a \"hidden\" option but the app would override it all the time, so now if it is running \"NOTIFICATIONS\" unattended, it will try harder to not appear as a task on the task bar.  This mostly works, but occasionally it seems the cursor will change to a busy cursor even with the app running in the background.  Progress at least.
  3. Minor UI updates to formatting on first tab, changing C# to P# on last tab, double-clicking on the first time on the Scheduled tab will copy that time to all the other days.
  4. Description column changed to Collection column.  Added new SubjectPrefix to hold the <database><versionshort> text so the view is nicer.  Added comobboxes to the Collection and SubjectPrefix edit boxes to make it easier to pick pre-existing values for those entries.
  5. Added OA# column and all the logic that linking Annotations seems to require.  The events for that view also had to be updated, including the AfterPost and Grid.Refresh events.

Annotations Tool

  1. Added function to refresh calling module once a change has been made to the Annotation so that the linked view can immediately reflect whatever Annotation change was made.  Not sure if this is the best way to do it, but seems to work ok.  Very SQL heavy at this point.  Maybe a dozen queries just to load an Annotation, change the color, and go back to the original view.  Maybe it will be less noticeable on a faster server.

Oasis Desktop v1052

Submitted by Andrew Simard on

Labour Manager

  1. Updated \"add selected worker\" to highlight worker after adding, updated icons.
  2. Added \"default punch\" button to work like \"punch in\" but used to differentiate the two kinds of punches.  Sometimes punch-in is explicitly required, like when someone leaves the site and returns on the same day.
  3. Fixed various context menus to point at the right things.  Like being able to print the worker history or show the SQL for the recent worker notes.
  4. Worker notes updated to make read-only notes when the user is not the same as the user who created the note.
  5. Shift override was being reset when people worked multi-block days.  Adjusted to not do that.
  6. Adjusted order of refresh after deleting records from the Processed Punches view so that the view is left in a consistent state.  Previously, the view was refreshed before the repair, so if the repair changed any records, the view was inconsistent, generating the dreaded \"record updated or changed\" when in reality, while technically true, wasn't practically true.
  7. Adjusted the \"delete edits\" function to always work, regardless of whether debug mode was enabled or not.
  8. Added W# to the caption title for the \"Processing Details\" tab so you can immediately see which W# was last processed.

Annotation Tool

  1. Restored the form title bar.

Notifications Manager

  1. Added \"Always Active\" as a type for scheduled tasks.  This was because the \"reset\" task itself, which resets other tasks, was getting marked as \"in use\" itself and thus not being able to reset other tasks.  Doh!

Worker Manager

  1. Worker Manager.  Updated the \"Register W#\" button to return to \"Register W#\" and not \"Register Worker\" after use.  Was causing text to wrap unexpectedly.  Also left-justified all the buttons on the Quick Registration utility panel.

General

  1. Release Script.  Adjusted to include the list of authorized and unauthorized database names as part of the release when updating Datamark (Oasis Desktop).

Oasis Desktop v1051

Submitted by Andrew Simard on

Labour Manager

  1. Added tab for recent worker notes.

Security Manager

  1. Populated Module tab.

Module Manager

  1. Rearranged it a bit, so the menu is on the left.  Updated Refresh button to remove invalid table entries.  Removed user restriction on the menu so that everything is visible.  Added more MODLOG entries.

  1. Added Cultivate to set of login logos.

Annotation Tool

  1. First Cultivate module created - Annotations.  Spent a lot of time polishing this module, so it is already pretty much complete.

Probably several things I've forgotten as it has been awhile since the last official update.

Oasis TimeClock v711

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Fixed an error where the punch wasn't being recorded because of an internal IntToStr error based on the Location not being a valid location.  Added a default of '900' in this case, and more error checking.
  2. Added a \"clear keyboard queue events\" step to the ResetTimeClock and also the ProcessPunch routines  to hopefully catch the cause of the above - people entering their checklist so fast that the clock is reset before the punch is fully recorded.  I don't think the keyboard repeat function is enabled for TimeClocks configured to run as TimeClocks, so they're just tapping 0 indiscriminately, which should still work and not get tripped up like this.
  3. Added a block to prevent entering worker numbers starting with 0.  No clue why this wasn't done 20 years ago?!
  4. Minor change to keep flushing the keyboard queue when entering the Password screen.  Seems some keyboard input was being carried over to the next screen.  Will add more KeyboardFlush calls if it turns out this is helpful elsewhere.

Oasis TimeClock v710

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. 'Supervisor Functions' now appears at the top-right of the Supervisor Functions menu once again.
  2. Added an extra fail-safe to the worker history function so that it always has at least a division=0 when running the query.  Seems it somehow lost its division value if the TimerCheckIn function was run while the Supervisor Functions were displayed.
  3. Added some more logic to try and figure out why the TimerCheckIn function was run while the Supervisor Functions were displayed.  Was not suppose to happen unless the screen timer was disabled due to too long of a wait.

Oasis TimeClock v709

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Exception handling changed to restart app after 2 failures in 10 minutes rather than 5 failures in 1 minute.  Something got kerfuffled on one of the VF TimeClocks and with all the database timeouts and reconnects, the exceptions were 5 minutes apart.  Not quick enough to trigger the restart, but slow enough to generate a steady stream of error notifications.

Oasis TimeClock v708

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Default window title changed to 'TimeClock'.  Eventually this is set to 'TimeClock <#> <name>' but for some reason it was appearing as 'TCMain' during the init.  For, like, the last 20 years.  Go figure.
  2. Added version and elapsed time info to the TimerCheckin log so I can better gauge performance issues, and because logs created before a server reboot don't have any other version information in it after midnight.
  3. Other minor tweaks to log formatting.

Oasis TimeClock v707

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Cleaned up logging detail around special/modifier keys and key logging of related items.
  2. Adjustments to how missed check-ins are handled, so that they can get checked-in again rather than delayed indefinitely.
  3. Other tweaks to logging output of both the Main log and the Event log.

Oasis TimeClock v706

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Minor adjustments to the log to show time remaining before the next Check-in when a check-in is requested but the check-in delay has not yet elapsed.
  2. Other log formatting to keep up with the [ABC] style present everywhere in the log.  Fingerprint Scanning and Phase lookups were the latest culprits this time out.
  3. Invalid key entry was removing the worker number from the process, but it seems sometimes the process continued without the worker number!  Not so good.  More careful now to simply ignore invalid keys without interrupting anything.  Seems that fingerprint scanning as part of its normal course of operations would generate key presses to continue the process along, and thus get messed up when the worker number was dumped along the way.  Oops...
  4. More logging with fingerprint scans, particularly when scans are not successful.

Oasis TimeClock v705

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Adjustments related to the inactivity timer.  The TimeClock Summary update triggered by the inactivity timer established a database connection that wasn't subsequently released.  This messed with all the work that just went into making the database connection graphs nice and pretty ;-)

Oasis TimeClock v704

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Changed how punch-ins via fingerprint work, to more closely match how they work without fingerprints.  Seems still some issues around what happens when scanning in after scanning out, that kind of thing.  Might not be there yet, will see...
  2. Logging more information about punches generally, fingerprint scan punches specifically.
  3. Related to the above, more work on first punch protocol.
  4. Adjusted DB timeouts to be a little longer so that they don't timeout during a server restart.
  5. Adjusted TimerCheckIn calculation - was not calculating the 10 min (or whatever) checkin delay properly.

Oasis TimeClock v703

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Updated EurekaLog to 7.7.8.58.  Not specifically needed for anything, just the latest version after a major TimeClock update.
  2. Adjusted the rules for \"First Punch Protocol\" to have a 901 punched after a 902 in the case of a returning worker.  Seems this was the way it was, and got mixed up with the PSF 24hr stuff.
  3. Updated to accommodate longer than 8-character usernames.  Only impacts Supervisor Functions, and even then only in very specific ways for some reason.  Probably should look into that more.
  4. Updated Access History logging to be more... interesting.  Can now see individual TimeClock Attendance selections, more performance data.
  5. Changes in how the Fingerprint Bypass work.
  6. Probably other things I've forgotten.  It's been, like, 2 days.

Oasis TimeClock v702

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. HUGE update.  Immense. Incalculable.
  2. Revamped how lists are drawn, IE activities, locations, checklists, etc. to be better/faster.
  3. Revamped how Supervisor Functions are drawn to be better/faster and at regular resolution.  Drawing text after scaling background image rather than before.
  4. Lots of work around how logging is done, more logging entries, more timing added to the log, more, More, MORE.
  5. Changed around how network failures are managed.  Hopefully more resilient than it was before.
  6. Played around a bit with all kinds of timeout issues, hopefully going to dispense with the nightly bump on the graphs as the server is rebooted.
  7. Lots of work around improving the performance of the Attendance screens.
  8. Added a \"TimeClock Summary\" section at the top-right of the main TimeClock screen.  Shows who is working nearby.
  9. Changed how TimeClock GH and PH defaults are calculated.  Should work better for raw punches, which will help with the TimeClock Summary.
  10. Changed around how the background images and the rest of the image processing is handled.  Much more performance and more accuracy in everything.  Replaced some of the underlying background images with more options for making the 3D look more palatable.
  11. Work on the ThankYou screen to better position photos without changing their aspect ratio (tricky given that the aspect ratio is different after it is painted....) and added more info to the ThankYou message to indicate data input and the processing of the punch.
  12. Work on improving overall startup time.  Now around 5sec over the VPN.  Should be much faster locally.
  13. Probably more that I can't think of off of the top of my head.

Oasis Tablet v18

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Labour.  Big changes to add more of everything.  New 'Issues' button to filter worker list to just the issues that need addressing.  Added Notes and History tabs.  Ability to set path, phase, greenhouse and TimeClock when adding punches, etc.

Oasis TimeClock v701

Submitted by Andrew Simard on
  1. Minor update for checklists.  When recording a checklist, the number used is recorded in the SKU field that is subsequently visible in the Greenhouse Viewer and other places.  This value had been entered previously as \"PICK-203\" or whatever number was selected.  This update changes it to use the first four letters of the type of checklist, currently either FORK, ELEC or PICK.  Should help distinguish what checklist was being done when looking at the labour data, should anyone be interested in that.
